Half Day Trip    $400.00USD

 A half day trip is a 4 hour trip.  This is the minimum time that we have for a fishing trip.  We need at least 4 hours to give you a chance for a good catch of fish.  On a 4 hour trip, we usually fish 6 to 12 miles out of Progreso in 30 to 60 feet of water and we recommend bottom fishing.  When bottom fishing here one usually catches red groupers, yellowtail snappers, mojarra blancas, triggerfish, etc.  Trolling you can catch barracudas, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, jacks, bonitos, etc.  We have been fishing a wreck called Lorenna which is mentioned on our home page on our half day trips. We have been consistently fishing well on the wreck catching the jack crevalle and other types of jacks. Sometimes the seaweed drifting on the surface won’t allow successful trolling and we have a drift and cast or anchor and cast to catch the big jacks. We will do whatever it takes to catch them if you like.

It is not unusual to catch 20 to 50 fish bottom fish on a half day trip and they are usually good to eat.  We can always troll after you have made the day bottom fishing.  We have been fishing lately not far from the marine terminal this winter of 2012 and catching lots of lane snappers, grunts and some red groupers. We have been running catches of 60 to 90 bottom fish on a half day trip. Most of our guests fish 4 to 6 hour trips.  Extra hours are $100.00USD per hour.
